203-K Complete!

It's official...we received the letter from the bank stating that all of the 203-k loan requirements have been met!  We're thrilled to be done with all of the horrible contractors and ready to start our own renovations! I'm glad this part is done and grateful for the learning experience. Just when Adrian and I thought we knew everything there was to know about real estate and investment properties we now have one more thing to add to our repertoire...we are 203-k loan experts!  Our advice, avoid them like the plague!  No, seriously though, they're alright.  They can just be a lot of work and can cause a lot of headaches.  I'm super glad we stuck with it though and excited for our future renovations and the work and headaches to come :)

You've Got Mail!

A few weeks back I gave our new mailbox a makeover and painted the gold letters pewter to match our color scheme.  Only took me a few minutes and it looks much better! You're welcome, Mr. Mailman.

The Front Door Has Arrived!

Finally after about 8 weeks, our front door was delivered this afternoon.  Can't wait to have it installed. I think it's a nice looking door and it's not even stained yet. I suppose its time to get rid of our padlock :/

Garage - Day 12

We have power! Today, an electrician was out working on the garage from 9am-5pm.  Our garage door now opens, we have sconces, security lights and indoor and outdoor outlets.  So happy about all the work on the garage.

The siding is finished!  It looks sooo nice. Now we just need to get electricity and paint the trim white and it will be complete.

Friday, August 10
Since the garage is finished, Adrian called up the loan inspector so he could come check out the last to-do item from the 203-k loan list.  This should be the last item we need to complete in order to be done with the 203-k headache.

Garage - Day 9

We had to wait a couple of days for the siding to come in, but it's finally here.  Here's a halfway done shot.  They also put the trim up around the windows and french doors and fixed the whole in the soffet.
